The Qualified Technical Person QTP course covers current practices in working safely and verifying compliance of electrical installations that affect the currency of competencies held. It encompasses working safely, procedures for rescue from contact with live parts, and for applying emergency first aid. It also encompasses current practices in visual inspections and mandatory compliance testing, identifying non-compliance defects and mandatory reporting requirements. The units of competency required for QTP are UEEEL0002, UEEEL0030, and UEEEL0029.
Practical activities involve training and assessment in commissioning of 3-phase and single-phase switchboards and complete verification records based on AS 3000 and AS 3017. Students will perform this activity under the supervision of the trainer. All tools and PPE are provided. Wear appropriate clothing. Check the entry/other requirements below for further details. Theory involves a thorough study of AS 3000 and relevant standards applicable to being an electrical contractor in QLD.
