Hydrogen Properties, Production and Basic Chemistry

This module contains elements that may be applied by workers in the automotive, construction, energy, engineering maritime and transport, sectors.

Module 2 provides learners with valuable technical knowledge about hydrogen’s unique properties, its typical production methods – including liquefaction and a basic understanding of the structure of atoms and elements and how they play a role in fuel cell and electrolyser operation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Hydrogen Liquefaction
  • Common Methods of Hydrogen Production
  • The Basics of Atoms and Elements
  • The Bonds that occur between Elements
  • The Role of Anions and Cations in Electrolysis and Fuel Cells.
